What Happens at 8:30 Every Weekday Morning Here?

Updated

Bottom line: Every weekday at 8:30 the whole team is in the same meeting. Wins get named out loud with the agent who earned them, then anyone stuck on a file says so and somebody picks it up before the meeting ends.

What are the two halves of the huddle?

Celebrate is first. A win gets said out loud with the name of the agent who earned it, and Holler Time is what the team calls that part of the morning. It takes a few minutes, and without it a good month is something only the agent who had it knows about.

Need Help is second. Anyone stuck on a file or a client says what the problem is, in front of the room, and somebody picks it up before the meeting ends. That is the whole mechanism, and it is the reason an agent here does not spend a morning working out who to ask.

Who is in the room at 8:30?

Everybody, which is the point: the huddle is the one meeting the whole team is in. The five designated mentors who run the weekly squads are in it, and all five still sell houses: Brad Evans, Brittney Coyle, Holly Hernandez, Kim Vargas and Yolanda Ames. Holly has over $40 million in closed business so far this year (her own words, 11 September 2026), and she is in the same meeting as an agent in their first month.

Sibel Caliskanlar Cope and Alexis Ruiz-Ney, the Concierge Directors, are the other way in. A file that breaks at eleven in the morning does not have to wait for tomorrow: you send it to one of them and they route it to whichever part of the team owns it.

What else is on the calendar in a week?

A squad meets once a week, thirty minutes on Zoom, run by one of those five mentors. Script practice is daily for a new agent and two or three times a week for somebody with a book behind them. A Power Hour runs at least once a week, when the team blocks an hour and works its own database at the same time. The squad leaders and the success team have standing weekly meetings of their own.

None of that is attendance taken at a door. Everyone here is an independent contractor, and these meetings hold because the agents who come get something out of them. What you will be told before you join is what is on the calendar, so you can decide whether it is a week you want to be in.

Why would a producing agent want a daily meeting?

Two things get harder as production rises. Finding somebody free enough to help when a file breaks is one, because the people who could help are as busy as you are. Having anyone notice a good month is the other. The huddle handles both, and it is done before most agents' first appointment of the day.

525+ leads a month come into this team (team records, August 2026), and the appointments booked off them land on calendars that are already full. Morning is when a week that is about to go wrong can still be changed, which is why the meeting sits at the start of the day rather than the end.

Questions & answers

What do Houston agents ask about this?

What time does the Houston Properties Team morning huddle start?

8:30, every weekday. The whole team is in it, and it runs in two halves: Celebrate, where a win is named with the agent who earned it, and Need Help, where anyone stuck on a file says so and somebody picks it up before the meeting ends.

It is done before most agents' first appointment of the day, which is the reason it sits at the start rather than the end. Around it sit the weekly squads, script practice and a Power Hour at least once a week. Nobody takes attendance at any of them: every agent here is an independent contractor, and what the team tells you before you join is simply what is on the calendar. The whole week is written out on the page about what the team feels like day to day.

What happens if I have an appointment during the morning huddle?

You go to the appointment. The huddle is at 8:30 every weekday and nobody takes attendance, because every agent on Houston Properties Team is an independent contractor. What you miss is the two things the meeting carries: a win named out loud, and a stuck file handed to somebody who can move it.

The second half is the one worth rearranging for. Need Help is where a problem gets said in front of the room and somebody takes it, so a week in which nothing has gone wrong is a week you can skip. A file that breaks later in the day does not have to wait for tomorrow morning either: Sibel Caliskanlar Cope and Alexis Ruiz-Ney are the Concierge Directors, and routing a problem to the part of the team that owns it is their job rather than yours.

Is a daily huddle worth it for an experienced agent?

Two things get harder as production rises: finding somebody free enough to help when a file breaks, and having anyone notice a good month. One meeting every weekday morning handles both. Holly Hernandez has over $40 million in closed business so far this year (her own words, 11 September 2026) and is in the same room.

The five designated mentors who run the weekly squads are in it as well, and all five still sell houses: Brad Evans, Brittney Coyle, Holly Hernandez, Kim Vargas and Yolanda Ames. That is what makes the Need Help half work. The agents who could take a problem off you are in the room rather than on a list you have to work through, and they heard it at the moment you said it.
