For agents whose week has nobody else in it
What Does Being on This Houston Real Estate Team Feel Like Day to Day?
Updated
Bottom line: The team meets at 8:30 every weekday morning, five days a week. Half of it names the wins and who earned them, half of it is people saying what they are stuck on. Squads, script practice and a Power Hour sit around it.
What happens at 8:30 every weekday morning?
The huddle runs in two halves. The first is Celebrate: wins get named out loud, with the person who earned them, so everybody hears who did what. Holler Time is the recognition inside that half, and the point of doing it by name in front of the room is that a good week otherwise disappears.
The second half is Need Help. Anybody stuck on a file or a client says so, in front of everybody, and somebody picks it up before the meeting ends. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why nobody here has to work out who to ask.
What else is on the calendar in a normal week?
A squad meets once a week, led by one of five designated mentors who all still sell houses. New agents practice scripts every day, and agents with a book behind them do it two or three times a week. There is a Power Hour at least once a week, and the squad leaders and the success team have standing weekly meetings of their own.
None of it is attendance taken at a door. Everybody here is an independent contractor, and the meetings happen because the people who come get something out of them. What we will tell you before you join is what is on the calendar, so you can decide whether it is a week you want to be in.
Step by step
What does a week here look like from the outside?
- 01
8:30, every weekday
The huddle. Celebrate first, then Need Help. It is the one meeting the whole team is in, and it is done before most agents' first appointment.
- 02
Script practice
Daily for a new agent, two or three times a week for somebody with a book behind them. Out loud, with a person on the other end rather than a recording.
- 03
Power Hour
At least once a week the team blocks an hour and works its own database at the same time. Nobody is calling strangers: this is the follow-up everyone means to do and nobody does alone.
- 04
Your squad
Once a week, a small group led by a mentor who is still selling. You say your call goal out loud, and the following week somebody asks you about it.
Questions & answers
What else do Houston agents ask?
What happens at the 8:30 huddle on Houston Properties Team?
The whole team meets at 8:30 every weekday morning and the meeting has two halves. Celebrate names the week's wins with the agent who earned them, and Need Help is where anybody stuck on a file or a client says so and somebody picks it up.
The order matters more than it looks. Recognition first means the room hears who is doing the work, and a problem raised second is raised to people who are already talking. Most of what gets said in the second half is small: a listing that will not photograph, a lender who has gone quiet, an inspection amendment nobody has seen before. It gets handed to whoever owns that kind of problem before the meeting ends. Squads, script practice and a Power Hour sit around the huddle through the rest of the week.
Do I have to come to the daily huddle?
No. Everybody on this team is an independent contractor, and nobody takes attendance at the door. The huddle happens at 8:30 every weekday whether or not you are in it, and most people are in it because half an hour there saves them the afternoon.
What we will not do is sell you a rhythm and then police it. What runs through the team is written in the membership agreement: transactions, the CRM record, referrals, how fast a client hears back. The meetings are a different thing. They are on the calendar, they start on time, and the value of coming is the only argument anyone here makes for it. Ask a current member what they get out of the two halves before you decide what your own mornings look like.
What is Holler Time on Houston Properties Team?
Holler Time is the recognition inside the daily huddle. Wins get named out loud, with the person who earned them, in front of the whole team. It takes a few minutes and it is the reason a good week on this team does not pass without anybody noticing it.
It is deliberately specific. A win is named with the agent, and usually with the thing that made it work: the follow-up call nobody wanted to make, the second showing, the neighbor who turned into a listing. Agents who have worked alone often say this is the part they did not know they were missing, because a solo closing gets celebrated by exactly one person. The recap is written up afterwards, so somebody who was at an appointment can still read what happened.
What is a Power Hour on a Houston real estate team?
A Power Hour is a blocked hour, at least once a week, when the team works its own database at the same time. Nobody is calling strangers. It is the follow-up every agent means to do, done alongside other people so it actually happens.
Working a database is the least difficult and most avoided hour in this business. Doing it together removes the two reasons it slips: nobody else is expecting it of you, and a quiet office makes a call feel bigger than it is. On this team the hour is on the calendar, the list comes out of the shared CRM with the history already attached, and the conversations that come out of it get logged where the next person can see them. New agents sit in it from their first week.
