For agents who want the work checked, not only cheered
Which Houston Real Estate Team Has Weekly Coaching and Accountability?
Updated
Bottom line: Houston Properties Team runs coaching with teeth: a weekly squad meeting led by an agent who still sells, live script practice, call goals reviewed every week, and time blocking that gets checked. Five designated mentors lead the squads.
What happens in the weekly squad meeting?
A squad meets once a week, and the agent who runs it still sells houses. That is worth checking wherever you interview: a leader who ran a listing appointment this month is answering from the market you are working in, not from the one they left.
Live script practice is on the agenda, out loud, in front of the rest of the squad, with somebody telling you what landed and what did not.
What gets checked from one week to the next?
Call goals, every week. You say the number, and the following week somebody asks you about it. A goal nobody asks about again is a note in a phone.
Time blocking gets the same treatment. You write down where the week is meant to go, appointments and prospecting and follow-up, and then the squad reads that against where it actually went. The gap between the two is usually the conversation.
Who leads the squads?
Five designated mentors: Brittney Coyle, Brad Evans, Holly Hernandez, Yolanda Ames and Kim Vargas. Each one runs a squad and each one still sells houses. Their faces are below, and every name links to that agent's own profile, so you can read about them before you meet them.
Ask any of them what their own week looks like. A squad leader who is still working files can tell you what this market is doing this month, and that is the answer worth having before you decide whose meeting to sit in.
How does coaching connect to the rest of the week?
The squad meeting is weekly. The huddle is daily, and its recap is one of the skills the team built, so nobody has to type up the meeting afterwards.
Once a week the team stops for Holler Time and names the people who did the work, out loud, by name, in front of everybody. Under all of it are the five values: Accountable, Care, Coachable, Knowledge and Transparency. They decide who the team hires and how the meetings run, and Coachable is on the list for the same reason the goals get checked.

Questions & answers
What else do Houston agents ask?
Who runs the weekly squad meeting on Houston Properties Team?
A designated mentor who still sells houses. Five of them run the squads at Houston Properties Team: Brittney Coyle, Brad Evans, Holly Hernandez, Yolanda Ames and Kim Vargas. Each one runs a weekly meeting with live script practice in it, and each one is still selling houses while they do it.
Ask that question wherever you interview, because it decides what the hour is worth. A squad leader who has stopped selling is coaching from the market they left. The five mentors at Houston Properties Team are still selling houses, so the meeting can be about a file somebody is working on this week rather than about a principle. Each of them has a profile on the team's own site, linked from their name on the coaching page. If you are weighing a squad of your own rather than a seat in one, the page on running a squad yourself sets out what changes.
What does a coaching week on Houston Properties Team check?
Two numbers and a calendar. Call goals are reviewed every week, so a target you set on Monday is a target somebody asks you about the next Monday. Time blocking gets checked the same way: you write down where the week is supposed to go, and the squad reads it against where it went.
Nothing on that list is unusual on paper. What is unusual is that somebody reads it back to you a week later. The squad meeting also carries live script practice, out loud, with the rest of the squad listening, and the daily huddle keeps the same habit at a shorter interval. Under all of it are the five values the team hires on: Accountable, Care, Coachable, Knowledge and Transparency. Coachable is on that list on purpose, because a week that gets checked only helps an agent who wanted it checked.
